The first run of Poetry Bites workshops turned out so well, it’s going to become a regular thing! I’ll be returning to the Biscuit Factory Art Gallery every other month to run a series of art-inspired poetry writing workshops.

Each workshop will feature writing prompts, exercises and opportunities to share your work and receive supportive feedback. There will be emphasis on generating ideas, with chances to explore the gallery and engage with the work of local artists as inspiration. Here’s an example of a poem produced in one of the previous workshops by a talented attendee!

The next workshop will be on Sunday the 21st of July, book yourself a ticket here if you’d like to attend! Slots are limited. After that, future workshops will be listed here on the Biscuit Factory website. Hope to see you there, and write some more ekphrastic poetry*!

The text 'Poetry Bites' next to a logo of a biscuit is overlaid on the background image of a person's hand writing. Below it is the text: 'A relaxed workshop of art-inspired poetry writing taking place at the Biscuit Factory, Sunday 21st July, The Workroom (Upstairs), Book online!'

*Ekphrastic Poetry: A term I just recently learned, meaning poetry written in response to a work of visual art. It’s a fancy-sounding term for something quite intuitive, and I’m excited to keep exploring this creative space in future workshops!
